Los Caños de Meca is a place where the sea sets the rhythm of life. Its beaches, open to the Atlantic, and its exposure to the wind make this corner of the Costa de la Luz one of the best settings for water sports in Cádiz. Throughout the year, surfers, riders and sea enthusiasts come here to enjoy its natural conditions.
One of the best-known spots for water sports is the area around Trafalgar Lighthouse. Long Atlantic waves often form here, breaking in front of one of the most iconic landscapes on the Cádiz coast. Very close by, opposite the Playas del Estrecho residential development, there is also a reef break that produces more powerful, demanding waves.

- Windsurfing. One of the sports with the longest tradition in Los Caños de Meca, especially when the Levante wind is blowing.
- Kitesurfing. Very popular around Marisucia Beach, at the bend just before Trafalgar Lighthouse, where the wind and open space create ideal conditions.
- Surfing. Making the most of the Atlantic waves that form on certain days.
- Stand-up paddleboarding. An increasingly popular sport that involves travelling across the water while standing on a board and using a paddle.
For kitesurfing, one of the most spectacular locations is Marisucia Beach. From here, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of Trafalgar Lighthouse in the background and dozens of kites moving across the water when the wind is strong.
Stand-up paddleboarding, meanwhile, has become one of the most accessible ways to enjoy the sea. It does not require wind and is relatively easy to learn, allowing many people to get started while exploring the coastline from the water.
Thanks to this combination of waves, wind and scenery, Los Caños de Meca has established itself as one of Andalusia’s most attractive destinations for anyone who enjoys sport and direct contact with the ocean.
